The Train with Best cycling camp organized by Amblin Services was on Sunday inaugurated by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) youth wing secretary Arif Laigroo.
The 3-day introductory camp that is aimed to make school going students familiar with the professional cycling is being held under the supervision of only International cyclist of State, Muhammad Akbar Khan. He will be assisted by another national level cyclist of Kashmir, Amir Ahmad. In the camp 35 students hailing from Burn Hall School and Kashmir Harvard Institute are participating.
The camp was inaugurated by Arif Laigroo along with PDP District Srinagar youth wing President Majid Khan and veteran sports administrator Nisar Hussain and Gulzar Khan. The camp is concept of Amblin Services.
Laigroo on the occasion said, “I believe we should go and train students in various sports disciplines and not just cycling. It is best way of promoting sports. I appreciate Akbar Khan and Amir who will be training these kids for their effort. Everyone should also hail Amblin for coming up with this camp”.
Majid Khan also hailed Akber and said that he should continue to hold such programs in future as well.
“It is basic training in which we will introduce these Under-12, 14 and 17 level students to basics of professional cycling. With the passage of time we will extend its scope and area as well,” Akbar said.
Nisar Hussain said that he has seen Akbar grow from early age and knows how much hard work he has put into become the star he is today.
“I have seen him since he was kid, yet to join college. From being an unknown to become biggest cycling star of Kashmir, there is lot of hard work and dedication. He is now transferring his way of working into these kids by way of the camp,” Hussain said.
