Rookie left arm pacer of Kashmir Mujtaba Yousuf picked up two-wickets on his Inter-Zonal cricket tournament debut for North Zone side against South Zone at Hyderabad.
In the rain affected two day match; North Zone emerged out as winner. Mujtaba Yousuf along with another J&K cricketer Kanaya Wadhawan were selected for the North Zone side.
The duo was selected on the basis of their performance in U-16 Vijay Merchant Trophy for J&K. In the event, Mujtaba played four matches in which he took 10 wickets and also scored 170 runs. Kanhaiya had scored 295 runs emerging top run getter in India among the wicket-keepers.
Mujataba is an emerging talent from the Bijbehara, the home town of Parvez Rasool. The young pacer has represented State in U-14 tournament twice and twice at Under-16 level.
“I am happy having contributed in my team’s win. The coach trusted me and gave me a chance. I gave my best,” he said.
“This is a big event and it will surely help me in future. During my training at Mohali I learnt a lot from known coaches,” he said. ( Source Greater kashmir)
