Bengal stopped the unbeaten run of J&K Under-23 in quarterfinal as they registered six wicket win over J&K in the quarterfinal clash of then Under-23 One Day League on Wednesday.u23 team

Batting first J&K were bundled out for paltry total of 135 runs in 40.5 overs. Despite the fighting knock 51 runs by Haziq Bhat, J&K couldn’t post a decent total on board. It was first time that J&K batting failed in the tournament. Fazil Rashid who had remained not out in four innings and then scored 56 in pre-quarterfinal got run out, so was Shubham Pundir.

In reply Bengal achieved the required target in 31.4 overs for the loss of four wickets. Suvankar scored 43 not out for them while as Sourav Pal 36. For JK Auqib Nabi, Ahmad Banday, Akash and Shubham Pundir took one wicket each.

J&K despite having finished on top of North Zone were forced to play pre-quarterfinal while as Bengal despite finishing second in its group got direct entry into quarterfinal. Winning five matches continuously did not gave any advantage to J&K while as Bengal despite finishing second in group got direct entry into quarterfinals without playing pre-quarterfinal stage.
