After the first match was washed out, J&K was beaten by Uttar Pradesh quite comprehensively on Saturday at Dehradun in the ongoing U-19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy.
Hatim Reyaz (73 off 43) and Udhay Partap (3 wickets) remained the top performers from J&K but their efforts weren’t enough in the end as UP registered a 35-run win (VJD method).
Earlier, batting first, Uttar Pradesh posted a a huge total of 304 runs on board in the allotted 50 overs. Prashant Veer shone bright with a brilliant unbeaten knock of 129 runs in 86 balls.
For J&K, Udhay Pratap picked up three while Urooj Parvez scalped two wickets.
In reply, J&K was reduced to 49-5 but then rain delayed the play. After the play resumed, it was Hatim Reyaz who ensured J&K puts on some fight in the match.
He played a sparkling knock of 73 runs in 43 balls. No other J&K batter could do much while for UP, Ajay Kumar took 3 wickets. J&K was bundled out for 160 runs in 23 overs.
