Jammu and Kashmir cricketer Umran Malik on Monday attended his first practice session with team India as the Kl Rahul-led squad trained at Delhi ahead of the upcoming T20I series against South Africa.
After impressive outing in IPL 2022, Umran earned his maiden call-up to the Indian team for this series. He is a part of 18-member Indian squad for the five-match T20I series.
Umran was on Monday seen sweating it out in nets. As per reports, he bowled an extended spell in the nets and bowled some thunderbolts to the experienced Indian batters.
However, wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant also responded quite well by trying to put the youngster under pressure by smashing him around in the nets. Initially, Umran looked a bit wayward as well.

Notably, Umran picked 22 wickets in IPL 2022 to end as fourth highest wicket-taker in the tournament. He was named emerging player of the tournament.
Meanwhile, India will lock horns with South Africa in the first match of series on June 09 at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, Delhi.
