CricketUmran Malik, Mohammad Siraj caught in 'unwanted' Tilak Controversy; Old Video surfaces online

Srinagar: Team India pace stars Umran Malik and Mohammad Siraj were on Saturday caught in an unwanted controversy as an old video of the duo surfaced online, refusing to take a Tilak on their forehead.

A video has surfaced on the internet in which the Indian team is checking into a hotel and duo can be seen requesting the hotel staff to not put the Tilak on their forehead.

Tilak is a part of hindu tradition in India and is applied to welcome the guests.

Though Umran and Siraj aren’t the only ones in th video who refuse Tilak, the Internet trolls have particularly targetted the duo.

Batting coach Vikram Rathore and one of the support staff members have also refused to apply the tilak on them in the video but Umran and Siraj are the only ones targetted.

The video seems to be old too as Umran is not part of the Test squad for Australia series. It could be from the Sri Lanka and New Zealand white-ball matches that recently took place at home.

Siraj who is part of India Test squad has taken 46 wickets in 15 Tests.
