Srinagar, December 10: With 41 wickets in 34 matches at an economy of 4.7 to his name in List-A cricket, should J&K’s team management think of giving left-arm spinner, Waseem Raza, a look in the playing XI?
Raza is the part of squad but hasn’t been provided with a chance to appear in the team. However, his List-A numbers suggest that he needs to be considered. Having done well in the trial matches held before Vijay Hazare Trophy also makes him the right candidate.
Raza’s numbers in One-day cricket are much better than his T20 and First-class figures. So, with J&K already losing its first two matches in the tourney, Waseem’s inclusion could prove to be a handy one.
As he is capable of batting down the order as well, it could strengthen their batting order as well. The all-rounder was a part of J&K’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy as also but he was given only one game.
Waseem is an experienced lad, having been playing for years in all the three formats, however, latey he has been rarely given a look in the team. The last time he played a List-A match was in 2019.
