Srinagar: Pakistan all format skipper Babar Azam has reacted to India wicketkeeper batsman Dinesh Karthik’s prediction about the Pakistan batsman.

Babar Azam who is currently next big thing in World of Cricket is often compared with the likes of Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson, Steve Smith and Joe Root.

Karthik, who recently returned to the Indian side after a stellar season in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, has opined that Babar can create history by taking the top ranking spots in all three formats. Babar was recently asked about Karthik’s praiseworthy remarks during a media interaction.

Reacting to the prediction and praise from Dinesh Karthik, Babar said, “Definitely, as a player it’s a dream to become the No. 1 in all formats and for that, you have to focus and put in hard work. It’s not like if you are the top player in 1 or 2 formats, you go easy. If you are to become No.1 in all three, you have to keep yourself fit and on track. There is back-to-back cricket and the gap is less. For that, you need to be extra fit. It’s something I am preparing for. It’s going well in white-ball and hopefully, I will be able to do well in Tests too”.

Babar has been Pakistan’s go-to player across all formats of the game. Making Pakistan a force to reckon with after becoming its all-format captain, Babar guided the Asian giants to the semi-finals of the ICC World T20 in 2021.
