Srinagar: After India thrashed New Zealand in second ODI on Saturday with pacer Mohammad Shami starring with the ball, J&K pace sensation Umran Malik interviewed his ‘Favourite’ India Pacer.
During the interview, Umran Malik asked Mohammad Shami secret behind calm and composed approach in high-pressure situations.
“When you are playing the country, you shouldn’t take pressure on yourself,” Shami said in a video Tweeted by BCCI.
“You should keep in mind that you should keep trusting your skills, you can tend to get carried away when under pressure. But, when you keep your cool and keep trusting your skills, you have better opportunity to execute your plans. When you are doing well, then the importance of focussing is more”.
“Keep your smile on, it’s white-ball cricket, anybody can get hit. But keep believing in your skill and keep an eye on the pitch and bowl accordingly,” he added.
Shami also offered a piece of advice to Umran, saying it’s not easy for batters to face the express pace of the young SunRisers Hyderabad bowler, but urged him to focus on getting his lines and lengths right.
“You have a lot of spirit. Your future is great, my best wishes to you. One advice for you, you have a lot of pace and it’s not easy playing it. Just focus on your line and length a bit more, when you get that in control, you can be on top of the world,” he added.
