Srinagar: Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam has said that hosts Sri Lanka are very tough opponents in home conditions but his team is also prepared well.

Sri Lanka head into the Pakistan after defeating Australia in three match series.

“My team and I are very much looking forward to the series and trying our level best to perform well,” said Babar in video posted by PCB ahead of the first Test.
“Galle ground is very beautiful. We are very much well prepared for the series. Sri Lanka are a very tough side in their home conditions, and you’ll see a good contest here”.

“The main thing is that people love Test cricket as the ground was full during the Australia Sri Lanka matches,” he said.

When asked about the political unrest in the country, Babar said his side were very well looked after by the Sri Lankan cricket board and security officials.

“To be honest that wasn’t in our mind but when we came here the situation was different. As a team, the Sri Lankan board and the security looked after us very well which was extremely helpful.

“We haven’t been through any hurdles which could potentially affect the series. We did very well in the practice match and there were no hurdles at all.”
