It may sound funny but it is the truth amid the global pandemic of Coronavirus. Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will be returning to regular events from May 9 in Jacksonville, Florida.
Dana White has already confirmed that Joe Rogan will be present during the eveng and now reports are coming that Daniel Cormier is also going to be present.
Daniel Cormier shared this news ,as well as what the trip means to him personally, in a chat with Ariel Helwani on “DC and Helwani.”
“Going to the fight is not one thing, here’s the difference- when I get home, I’m not allowed to come back. I’m serious. When I go. I’m gonna be gone for a week. When I come home my wife has a mandatory 2-week quarantine. I can’t come home. I got work for them and I get told that I have to stay in a different house,” DC said.
“I’m going to Jacksonville. I’m going for a week and am doing 2 shows. 9th and 13th. I’m ready to play. I’m calling fights, not fighting,” DC eloborated.
Further, ‘DC’ shared why he is hyped about the event and ready to travel to Florida despite the knowledge of a 2-week quarantine.
“I wouldn’t miss watching two of my favorite people in the world fight for the Bantamweight title. Dominick Cruz and Henry Cejudo. Two of the most elite athletes of all time and two of the most elite personalities in the game.”
In addition to the Cejudo-Cruz fight, UFC 249 also features a main event for the Interim UFC Lightweight Championship. Here, Tony Ferguson will fight Justin Gaethje for the opportunity to face Khabib Nurmagomedov. Also on the card is a Heavyweight clash between Francis Ngannou and Jairzinho Rozenstruik. Both fighters are on a 3 KO streak and will be looking to make it 4 on the bounce.
