Srinagar: Pakistan premier pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi has come out in support of under fire Pakistan skipper Babar Azam.
Pakistan suffered 0-3 defeat in the Test series at home against England.
England registered a 74-run victory on a dead Rawalpindi track in the series opener, then defeated Pakistan by 24 runs in the second Test in Multan, and secured a commanding eight-wicket win in the final Test in Karachi on Tuesday.
Urging fans to show some respect, Shaheen wrote a lengthy tweet, where he hailed Babar as Pakistan’s pride.
“Babar Azam hamari or Pakistan ki Shan, jaan or pehchan hai. Wo Hamara kaptaan hai or rahe ga. Kuch or #sochnabhimanah hai.
Please support this team. Yahi team hame jitaye gi bhi. Kahani abhi Khatam nahi howi,” Shaheen Tweeted.
Pakistan will next play New Zealand in the two-match home series, which starts from December 26 in Karachi.
Meanwhile, Shaheen will remain on the sideline for at least a few months, as he is still recuperating from his knee injury.
