Srinagar, Sep 6: Wonder Boys Cricket Club Akad emerged out as winner of the CCT Edition-1 cricket tournament defeating Lonepora Sports in the final played on Sunday at Panchayat Park Cricket Ground Akad.
Earlier Lonepora Sports won the toss and decided to bat first. They got off to a bad start with half of the side back in the dug out within six overs for the score of 30.
Toss was won by Lonepora Sports and they decided to bat first . After that middle and lower order fought back for Lonepora carried score to a respectable total of 112 runs for the loss of all wickets in the last over of the inning.
John Russel and Rayees Madni batted well for Lonepora Sports contributing 20 runs each .
For Wonder Boys Cricket Club ,Junaid ,Ishaq and Imran picked up 3,2 and 2 wickets respectively.
Chasing 113 to win Wonder Boys Cricket Club openers started slowly . They lost opener Aqib Gull in second over of the chase. Nasir joined Zahid Dar in the middle and launched counter attack. The ploy worked as Wonder Boys achieved target for the loss of four wickets. Zahid Dar with 56 run knock was highest scorer for them.
Later on ,Zahid Dar was awarded man of the match award while as Ishaq from Wonder Boys Cricket Club was declared as Man of the Tournament .
Rouf Gull from Shinning Stars was awarded best batsman of the tournament while as Amin Lone from Lonepora Sports was declared as the best bowler of the tournament.
Valley’s prominent Cricket analyst and promoter Laal Mohd Ganie sahab was the guest of honour along with other personalities .
