He also played ceremonial couple of strokes on the request of the boys.

Later interactive session of the school students who have been doing well in sports was held at school auditorium in presence of College Chairman, Mohammad Yusuf Wani, Principal Razia Sultan, Dean Academics Riyaz Kathjoo and other staff members.

Speaking on the occasion, Parvez Rasool suggested students to work hard in whatever sport they have taken as there is no substitute to hardwork.

“I was able to reach upto International level after playing at junior and senior domestic cricket for years. It requires lot of hardwork and dedication to reach higher level and then it require even more efforts to perform at that level,” he said.

“In domestic cricket I piled up runs, took lot of wickets and was adjudged as best all-round cricketer of the year. After that I got call up for India-A where I took five wicket haul against England and also against Australia. I was selected for Zimbabwe tour but didn’t got match to play. I kept performing well and finally got call for Team India. There may be hurdles but finally your performance would be rewarded,” he said. The session concluded with Chairman GVEI, Mohammad Yousuf praising Parvez for his achievements and also asked students to follow him.
